There is a small town on the Costa Blanca of unique beauty, offering dreamlike landscapes that you will fall in love with from the first moment you discover them and a magical atmosphere that will steal your heart in a heartbeat. We are indeed talking about Moraira, although we cannot forget about Teulada, with which it shares a municipality. Another marvellous place to enjoy both on holidays and all year round thanks to the climate that this area offers us and the great activities.

Indeed, Moraira hides small scenic gems.  The area has some of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca.

But to describe Moraira as just its beaches would be a disservice to this town that hides so many virtues and secrets, both for visitors and locals alike. Moraira is much more and we will tell you about it below.

Portet, Ampolla and Platgetes 3 beaches with blue flags

Portet, Ampolla and Platgetes: 3 beaches de Moraira with blue flags

Although we don’t want to focus on the beaches, we can’t forget to mention them, as here we find some of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca. In Moraira you can find blue flags on 3 beaches, namely: Portet, Ampolla and Platgetes.

Discover some of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca!

The first is a more family-oriented beach, with a length of 350 metres, and is one of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca with fine sand. El Portet, sheltered by the Cap d’Or, is ideal for a swim in its calm crystalline waters, sunbathing or practising water sports. Its peculiar location makes it especially attractive for boats during the summer, as its enclave helps to isolate the waves and the rough sea, and boats can enjoy mooring in its waters and spend a nice day with family or friends in a relaxed way.

Meanwhile, l’Ampolla, located next to the castle, is the most urban beach in the town and one of the favourites of both locals and tourists. And no wonder! Its fine sand and warm waters enchant any visitor.

Finally, to the east of l’Ampolla beach is the spectacular Les Platgetes complex. It is made up of two coves, one of pebbles and the other of golden sand, ideal for each and everyone’s tastes!

Moraira, a place with a maritime and fishing tradition

Moraira, a place with a maritime and fishing tradition

The port of Moraira is one of the most beautiful in the entire region, it is also located in a unique enclave, like the town itself, and contributes greatly to the economic development of the area.

This is demonstrated by its patron saint festivities, held in July in honour of the Virgen de los Desamparados and the Virgen del Carmen, where a maritime procession takes place.

There is a great commitment, both on the part of the locals and the tourists who come every year, to take care of the customs and traditions of this beautiful area, as well as to conserve its natural resources, so that future generations will continue to enjoy the history and beauty of this unique habitat.
