Can I buy several properties worth less than 500.000€?

It is not the same to buy a property worth €500,000 than to buy several properties, whose total value is €500,000. However, it makes no difference which of these two options you use to invest in Spain, as long as the total amount comes to a value of €500,000 or more, you can obtain your Golden Visa.

Therefore, the answer to your question is yes, you can buy several properties with a value of less than €500,000, but with a total value of more than €500,000.

Do I have to invest €500,000 in cash or can I use financing?

In order to obtain the Golden Visa, you must buy a property in Spain in which you invest at least €500,000 of your own resources, without a mortgage. This does not mean that you cannot qualify for the financing of the property, as if the property is worth more than €500,000, the excess can be mortgaged. In other words, if you decide to invest in a property worth 800,000€, you will have to pay 500,000€ out of your personal savings and the other 30,000€ can be mortgaged.

Can I travel to other European countries with the Golden Visa?

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Can I apply for the Golden Visa now, if I bought my property some years ago?

Following the UK Brexit in 2020 this question is of particular interest to UK residents who already own a home here in Spain.

There is no problem, you can apply for your Golden Visa, as long as the property was bought after 2014, when the Golden Visa Act came into force, and if the price declared in the deed of sale reaches €500,000.
