Benissa is quite rightly proud of its elegant neo-gothic cathedral (Purisima Xiqueta), the largest cathedral within the Marina district. Next to the cathedral is the town center, with its well preserved medieval quarter.

The town is an ideal place to do some shopping in one of the many individual establishments. On Saturdays the local market offers traditional products to include well priced fruits and vegetables.

The road to the coast is flanked by beautiful green landscaping comprising small hills, citrus, olive and almonds orchards plus vineyards, one of the main activities of this town.
